Just looking over my rear doors today and they need some work at the bottoms, no big surprise huh?  Anyway, have you guys used the repair panels? How is the fit on those? If not, how did you re-build the doors?

Yes with the house too, you will find you are paying good money for things you can do.  The only thing i didn't do with my last resto is the headliner.  I can live with it if I screw up.  I won't pay for someone elses screw up.  On my newest 2000 ft garage I only farmed out the finish concrete which they screwed up!!

to tell you the truth, i get angry every time i think about the car... those pictures where taken early last summer when i was working hard to get the car back on the road. then when i went to hang the doors i noticed they weren't the same color as the rest of the car. also when installing the interior bits i noticed some parts of the shell didnt have any paint on, just primer cleared over (the paint color is close to the primer color so its hard to notice). there was a bunch of other details i wasnt happy with, so i striped the interior and brought it back to the paint shop, where its been since mid november. it wont be done for this summer because i sold my house last december and moved into an appartment (no garage) while i build a new house. deadline for the house and garage is November, which means i wont be able to work on the car before that.

it sucks to spend so much time and effort on something only to have the end result butchered by someone who's doing the only step in the entire restoration that you cant do yourself. you can be sure that for the next Mini i restore, instead of giving away over 5k to a complete moron (i'm being very polite) i will take a body work course and do it myself. that way if it turns out looking like sh!t i will only have myself to blame.

Very nice indeed!!  Nice color combos, and the door panels are very nice. Rick, I got the bumperetts, off to get re-chromed along with the front bumper soon. I did find some rear tailights on fleabayUK, actually found two sets one is supposedly NOS, I'll see wha they look like when they get here, the others were used, but look great. Thanks, Ron J.

i used some generic car trim for the rear bins. its black plastic shaped like a "C" and there's a little bead of glue in it. they probably have the same in chrome finish.

Thanks. Rear doors now off, engine bay is almost completely bare. Next: steering wheel, pedals,and subbys, oh yes, and driver side door. Then off to be blasted, then up on the rotisseri!!!!!

you should be able to order a custom harness from our host or others that will have any option you choose.  the front harness is the same but the rear is longer.

Another question, are the wire harness's different for woodys than sedans? If not which would you buy for a woody that will be neg ground, and running an alternator?

That is a good idea, I would think you could start at the front and maybe work your way around slowly.

 I've tried to find the trim but it's not reproduced. I might get new door bin trim and bend it to fit the rear but need to see it it's long enough.

Another question for you guru's,  Are the rear companion boxes the same on a regular sedan?? Just wondering about the trim also?

I have an absolute perfect one that came with my other shell find. It is black. I don't think I will go with tha style though, I like a little bit of Bling!
