Interesting subject, and I am not in total disagreement with latch mechanism being same color as body color, but, it seems that all the latch/lock mechanisms on all (5) MKI Mini Woody Wagons I've owned, ie; including both doors on all MKI Minis I've owned, (minus my (2) 1966 Mokes of course!), have all been black. A semi flat black if I'm not mistaken? Anyway, I've also got a couple of spare MKI door latches in my box of Mini parts that are also black. I know, I know, this discussion is open for interpretation. That's what makes this forum soooooooooooooooooooo worthwhile. We will probably all end up learning something here!

I had a look at the '62's and the two white were white and the blue was blue so I would have to say body colour.

I think my 66 has sewn seats, I will check when I get home. I did however, treat her to a full Newton interior (safely packed away in the closet) for when she is ready.
Started out life red/Red, but I am pretty convinced I will be going with Tweed grey and red interior.
Jury is still out on the wood trim though. I have it, but haven't decided if I will use it...

My wife's 64 also has sewn seats, but the upholstery is pretty fragile after 40+ years. I gave her the half leather seats from my modern mongrel and took the Cobra buckets that came with the Traveller in addition to the original seats.

Oh yea, I got the other door off today, and the E-brake handle out. There is quite alot of rust on this car. Slow progress so far. |
My 64 Tinnie still has it's original interior and the seats are sewn seams.

AWOODY - Yes I still have it. It's actually on the workbench with everything but the interior removed. After I remove the interior, it will get dipped and the rebuild will commence.

I found this 1985 photo of me driving my Countryman at Mid Ohio during a lunch break. It was in a gallery of photos on an SCCA site. The date of build is 16 October 1969. The color is listed as Aqua - JMA (BLVC60), which doesn't show up in any of the charts that I've seen as a color for that year/model. I had always figured that since it was built at the end of the MKII run, that maybe they used a color from the upcoming Clubman.

Finally got my Heritage Cert. back and it was somewhat anti-Climactic. Heres the scoop:
Morris Mini Traveller, LHD, Canadian import, Old English White, red Int. no hood info, Started on 6-01-64, finished on 6-22-64, went to a Canada dealer, options from factory: 4 kilowatt heater, and wood trim.
Not sure if I will go back to white, I kinda like the tweed grey. If I do go back to OEW, what is a paint code for that?
My next step is to get the subframes off, and re-do them along with the suspension, then worry about the body, and engine.

Rick,
I'm not sure if they did but the one I have came out of a UK Mini Van that the owner wanted to go back to a 4speed.
