Interesting...  which pressure valve are we boosting???  Is this a component of the servo?? - or are we talking about brake intensifyer - as fitted to early 997s???

Having opened up a booster air valve it seemed to be filled with sheets of coarse paper.  I had a spare but often wonder if a completely stuffed one could be rehabilitated by cutting a bunch of coffee filter paper discs adn shoving them inside the filter housing.....

Cheers, Ian

it iwas for my Mk1 1275 Cooper S servo.... listed as Air Valve cover and filter assembly in my old parts catalog -  part number 17H8329

i ended up forking over $ for the repro servo ....as it appears this part is NLA ....or at least was  5 years back.

Now that you mention it, I bought two cans of Moss engine green recently. I used the first can to paint all the parts before assembly. Once assembled I used that can up and started the second can for touch up after running the cam and lifters in. To my surprise the color did not match and I had to coat the entire unit to get a proper look.

Another color I'd like a code for is the fan and pulley yellow on Copper S cast pulley and steel fan. I had a rattle can seems like it was Bumble Bee Yellow but it got thrown out during a rare clean up. I must have 100 rattle cans on the shelf.

Steve

PS: I need a little S for the front.

not sure about most sought after ...but i never could come up with a brake servo air valve....

Is that what you call a "PRESSURE BOOSTER", that would have been on a 1071S MK I ?'

If so, l have a NOS, still in the original Lockheed box-

Let me know if you are interested ?

Martin, 64 Mokes did not have a passenger wiper.  The only little wheel Mokes with factory wipers on both sides was some 67's and all of 68.  Moke seats are still out there.  I recently bought 2 for $500.  They will replace 2 of the ones currently in my Moke that were not perfect.  On the petrol cap, yes they are very rare.  The last one I saw on Ebay went off at $60--quite pricey, but will sit on my shelf as a backup incase mine ever goes bad.  On the petrol tanks for Mokes, I am pretty sure new tanks will be made soon, coming out of Nick's shop in California.  They are on his list of things to reproduce and will get to making them in his spare time during the restoration of my Moke.  Cheers, Hugh

"How about a supply of the exact color match MOWOG green engine paint. Not the usaul close second, or nearest match possible, or the best I've even seen kinda stuff available from our normal host of suppliers or local retailers, but a no holes barred, factory paint code, without a doubt mix."

I have some of that; mixed using the original formula - which is printed on the back of the label.

Unfortunately ... for you...  (a) its Mowog Oz green rather than the UK version you're probably looking for adn (b) teh OEM paint manufacturer has changed their tint system so that the original formula no longer gives the same result.  Some time ago I had another can made up by an expert paint "matcher" and I can't tell the difference...  Although I found that its VERY important how the paint is stirred.  I have two distinctly different colours on my engine at present - but they both came out of the same can.

I would further suggest that there is not actually a single proper colour.  I don't think the factory paint shops were too scrupulous in applying the formulas when mixing paint.  There might be one official "colour" but there are differences in appearance depending on who did the painting and when...

Cheers, Ian

Scargo, I have some bits around the shop with the correct color I wonder if we know anyone who could have them scanned and a code worked out. I also have a couple of half pint cans of paint I have collected over the years. I don't know it the paint in them is correct. A local supplier can do up rattle cans and mix the paint if we can come up with the code. I recently bought two cans of almost from Moss and with shipping it ran $50.

Alright now that that's all taken care of perhaps we can get back to enjoying our hobby. I will not be part of anything that takes away from the pleasure on classic mini ownership.

Steve, Nick is his own man.  He is not my brother, he is not my son...he does what he wants to do and operates his business as he sees fit.  If he has something for sale, by all means go for it.  Maybe you will be lucky enough to buy it and maybe you won't.  At any rate, whether or not he sells something to you has nothing to do with me.  I will say this for Nick though, he is a fair and honest man.  He don't get on here begging for people to send him free stuff only to turn around and sell to his customers.  On that note, I have nothing else to say.

I would like someone to reproduce a rubber floor mat like my '66 Ozzie Deluxe had (I have bits and pieces of what was left).

Covered the entire floor, ribbed red rubber.

PS Sorry if I miss judged you. Thanks for the reply. It's often hard to tell what's going on.
