The Lucas 59D distributor was used in the Mini from 1982 onwards in A Plus engines. It is is suitable for any vehicle that uses the Lucas 59D 4 Cylinder Distributor, such as the Mini, Austin Metro and Allegro, as well as some Morris vehicles. 

This 59D is a fully electronic ,negative ground distributor and fitted with a vacuum advance, as it was from the factory. Further, it has a curve suitable for the 1275cc A+ engine.

All of our distributors have been developed to run on modern fuel, with a modern advance curve giving them a wide universal fitment.

The 998cc and 1275cc have an advance curve specifically developed to run well in those engines when used in a Mini or Metro.

Simple wiring involves Red wire connecting to the positive connector on the coil and the Black connecting to the negative side. Distributor comes with cap and rotor.

To be used with a coil with resistance above 1.5 ohms and negative earth only Please ensure that your Live ignition feed is on the positive (+) side of the coil ready for your Powerspark Red wire. Please ensure that there is no power on the negative (-) side ready for the Powerspark Black wire. Distributor comes complete with cap and rotor.

This High Energy 59D is available in negative ground only. This distributor is fitted with a vacuum advance, as it was from the factory. Replacement ignition module is the PSM5.
