For Classic Minis, Master Cylinders made after 1985 had a groove around the base, below the tank and this takes 2 ring type seals.
All modern clutch master cylinders will use these type seals.
The master can often also be identified by looking for 2 rings on the outside of the lower body of the cylinder.
This kit is also used to rebuild Sprite & Midget Brake Masters with rings on the body.
