Cigarette lighter Socket replacement from the factory.

Fits all MINI models and years including:

2002-2006 R50 MINI Cooper and R53 Cooper S Hatchback
2005-2008 R52 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Convertbiles
2007+ R56 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Hatchback
2008+ R55 MINI Cooper and Cooper S CLUBMAN

In order to access or remove the cigarette lighter module, the shift console must be removed. Once the bulb holder/socket is removed from the lighter socket assembly, you can pull the lighter socket out from above. Likewise, the socket and luminous ring is installed from the top, once in place, you attach the bulb holder/socket to the luminous ring.

Question:
Will the one without the actual cigarette lighter allow for a cell phone car charger plug to work? Do I need Part No: NMK8640 Or can I just use Part No: NMK8641
Answer:
The cigarette lighter socket is the same plug that all 12v chargers can use.
If you don't need a lighter, then the NMK8641 should be fine.
