See Kit and Component Tab below for kit details.
The old canister type oil filters are not only passe, but a real pain. Modern spin-on filters are readily available, easier to change and provide much better filtering; spin-ons are available with super micron filtration and even built in magnetic traps. The conversion from the old canister type to the modern spin-on is a simple matter of removing two studs, replacing the filter head and securing it all with two short bolts. For manual gearbox cars only - not for automatics.
Our kit includes all the pieces;
TAM2097=Filter Head
12A2035=Gasket
Oil Filter
(2) LYG10008 =Adapter Bolts
GFE148=Spin On Oil Filter
FITS Minis and 1275 converted Minors and Sprite and Midget.
Does not fit on automatics
Note: If your older canister system had a low oil pressure switch connected, that circuit is no longer used. These heads have a ball bearing bypass valve that eliminates the need for that warning system.

That kit is for any car that has the older style cartridge filter that looks like this

The Automatics has a totally different oiling and filter system. That spin on kit is strictly for the manual gearbox blocks. Yours is entirely different. We offer the filters for your engine but nothing else, I'm afraid: https://www.minimania.com/part/GFE104/Austin-Mini-Oil-Filter-Element-For-The-Automatic

Yes, it will fit the 948 engine. You'll need to replace the rigid pipe to the block though as the rigid pipe adapter for the canister oil filters was different from the one that fits the spin on heads.
This should be the braided line you need: https://www.minimania.com/part/TAM2106BRAIDED/Braided-Line-Hose-Pipe-From-Block-To-Top-Of-Oil-Filter
The cheaper option is to get a used rigid pipe and spin-on head kit: https://www.minimania.com/part/MMKT2123/Pre-owned-Spin-On-Oil-Filter-Kit---Minis-Sprite--Midget--Morris-Minor
That kit is plug and play.
