MINI offered a mechanical Torsen type Limited Slip Differential (option 2Ta) with a maximum 31% lock (Torque Bias Ratio of 1.9) before it was replaced by the EDLC (Electronic Differential Lock Control). Although not the 'clutch type' LSD, this LSD uses a friction cone to limit the slip which requires a slightly different fluid.
