Even as our world number 1 selling pad grade, EBC Yellowstuff 3068 compound is new for 2021 and is designed where great stopping power is your goal on fast street use on modern sedans.

A high friction pad that works from cold and self seats after install due to its applied brake-in surface coating. Although the new Yellow grade WILL work fine under light track use or drifting it does take longer to bed in and if track driving is your main purpose, choose Bluestuff or allow extra time for bedding your brakes in.

This new formulation has been used by numerous championship race and rally drivers and is truly a milestone in brake pad material development. Nominal friction coefficient 0.5 with zero rotor damage and similar dust to original pads.

High Efficiency Performance

EBC yellows are ECE Brake safety tested which means they must work perfectly from cold at least as good or better than stock pads.

When Yellowstuff see some heat (which is not tested for in the ECE R 90 brake safety regulations) they really show their pedigree. On Japanese cars built with lower friction FF-rated pads these deliver a full grade higher stopping and on German cars built with GG these are about the only aftermarket pads that will match or beat the pretty good German OE spec pads and that takes some doing.

"Performance pad that also has a good manner on the street"

High-efficiency performance pad for high friction and improved stopping power.

Not only a high friction pad but very resistant to heat and lots of heavy braking means that Yellowstuff has been used with great success in fast street cars and Police vehicle brakes alike.

EBC Yellowstuff was upgraded during 2021 to remove copper from the mix to comply with environmental legislations and as the new mix lasts longer it is not now being suggested as a track material due to the longer bedding in process required. On the street, bedding happens naturally in the first 100-200 miles of urban use but for those drivers wishing to arrive at the track with new pads and enjoy their day, our current suggestion is to use the Bluestuff formulation for track day driving both front and rear.

Because of its huge heat range, the applications where EBC Yellowstuff will deliver benefits range from fastest street use on higher horsepower cars on most street-based cars and even as a brake upgrade on Trucks and SUV. Yellowstuff is especially appreciated on Trucks for towing and heavy loads and where wheel and tire oversize upgrades have been fitted. In trackday/drift/hillclimb races where earlier Yellow blends were suggested – EBC Bluestuff NDX ranges are now the better choices.

Race Drivers Love it because…

EBC Yellowstuff is an aramid fibre based brake compound with a high brake effect from cold and is possibly one of the first ever compounds that can be used for street and track driving. These pads do require some warm-up but get even stronger under the heat of hard driving. These are not a low dust pad, if your desire is for a low dust premium street use pad, you should consider EBC Redstuff. Please note however Redstuff is not for the track.

When considering full race use, Yellowstuff has been a strong favorite, having been used for two years in the Swedish Camaro Cup and at numerous other race events where a stock caliper system is fitted. It is also the choice of 90% of the Mazda MX5 Miata competitors in the UK race series and has an unblemished record as rotor friendly trackpad for vehicles up to 3500 lbs or 1600 kilos weight.

The SCCA and NASA drivers have been testing Yellowstuff with feedback and good reports POURING in from a 543 test driver major market proving event with these groups. Read that figure again 543 test drivers. There is no guesswork here.

Yellowstuff is especially appreciated on Trucks for towing and heavy loads and where wheel and tire oversize upgrades have been fitted.

In 2022 EBC introduced their new faster bedding Bluestuff grade which has even higher fade resistance than yellow and has a super fast bed in time. If you want a super-fast bed-in at the track, go for the Blue grade.

High friction formula improves brake effect by 15%

Brakes are a safety critical part of your vehicle and should be installed by a competent mechanic following vehicle manufacturers installation procedure. The surface of these brake pads is coated with a red coating known as BRAKE-IN. This coating helps your newly installed brake pads to 'seat' or bed-in quickly. However, pads should be used gently for the first 100 miles until optimum braking is observed.

Rotors should be replaced with new when installing new brake pads. Failure to do so can result in brake noise as well as reduced braking efficiency. Avoid contamination of pad surface with any forms of grease that you may use to lubricate caliper sliders.

For 'standard' replacement Brake Fluid, see Mini Cooper Brake Fluid Pentosin DOT4.

Manufacturers Warranty statement:

Please note THERE IS NO WARRANTY whatsoever for any EBC product used in Rally, Racing or Trackday, (Trackday use is tougher on brakes) because of the very demanding environment of racing. Loads ,speeds, track length and format and especially driving styles can vary immensely and can dramatically affect pad life . Standard brake systems even on modern cars are not normally designed for racing and may be totally unsuitable for race use. Simply changing to what we call a "Race formula" pad does not provide you with a race car.Acquaint yourself safely in a test mode to evaluate if any material you use for racing is suitable in terms of braking power, fade resistance and WEAR LIFE. Monitor wear carefully every few laps when first applying products to race or rally cars to avoid an unforeseen short life issue. In spite of the fact that EBC brakes has had many successes in race use of its products no one pad can solve all brake issues and requirements. This race tech advice is a completely free service given by our race technical staff on our UK hotlines. Such advice is given and accepted on a no warranty, no guarantee, no prejudice basis.

In 2022 EBC introduced their new faster bedding Bluestuff grade which has even higher fade resistance than yellow and has a super fast bed in time. If you want a super-fast bed-in at the track, go for the Blue grade.
