This rather cryptic nomenclature identifies the latest type of S.U. carburetor. Design improvements include a centrally mounted float that is not prone to surging or flooding, turn screw mixture adjustment, and a smooth operating cam action throttle linkage. Some of the carbs even have a roller bearing in the piston tower. When matched to the right manifold, flow bench numbers are right up there with a Weber carb, with superior driveability and economy. The 1 3/4" HIF6 (HIF44) works great with 1275s and 1380s. HIF carbs are available seperately or with complete installation kits.
