Question:
I currently have a 998 12A497 stock block with a 12A1456 head.
Would it be possible to change the current head for the CAM4810 unleaded without issues or modifications?
Are all CAM4810 heads unleaded? Some people are telling me that I am not right in thinking they are.
How would I identify the difference between leaded and unleaded heads?
Answer:
Yes the CAM4810 cylinder head is unleaded and can be verified by the presence of inserts on the exhaust valves. While it will bolt directly onto your older 998cc engine, the stock combustion chamber size of the CAM4810 head is 1cc bigger that you old stock cylinder head, If neither of the heads has been machine this will result in VERY slight reduction in power. easily compensated for with a .010" skimming of the head.
