Valve springs shims are often required to properly set the spring for seat (fully closed) pressure. These shims are .0260" thick. These are highly recommended for use with alloy cylinder heads to protect the softer alloy from the harsh springs! In fact a set of 8 of these is provided with a new alloy head to keep the springs from digging into the casting.
