All Sprites and Midgets from the Bugeye to Sept of 1969 use a rubber boot to seal around the gear shift lever. The boot is an item that you always look at while you are in the car and as it is so easy to replace there is no reason not to have a nice looking one! Also the boot used on the early Morris Minor Series MM and Series II cars with the 803cc A-Series engines (Sept. 1956).
