The stock plastic version has several problems; it is plastic and suffers from cracking and sticking throttle. The stock plastic version is also limited in it's throttle plate is only allowed to open to 75% of of the 48mm bore.
In tests the upgrade in size to 52mm produced power gains of 10% at 5,000RPM over the standard plastic unit. Full opening of the throttle also provides improved response and performance.
Direct replacement for stock unit without need for modification of ECU. Further gains could be expected if ECU mods were carried out!
