Drove in without delay on the Friday, but suffered from the "club not on our list" problem.
Non-the-less, we buttyed up with the Birmingham MOC and made a nice display.

Wonderful weather, great site with loads of "facilities" constantly being cleaned and lovely a chilled vibe.
The Bogus Brothers were a great band on Saturday night - videos of the crowd surfing to follow.

Car engines make CO2 and trees absorb CO2. By running your engine you're feeding a tree and helping the environment.

Al,
At least in the US, that would be a very slippery slope trying to tax FF miles/benifits...
What basis would be used for detirming the value of miles flown on a reward? I cashed in some miles to fly over in the very pointest end of the pointy end of the plane. The only way I could be further up front would be the co-pilots seat...
But, I managed to do it on a "saver pass" basis. So, would you tax it as a "walk up" fare at huge dollars or a fare based on a sale price?
Also, I've had some personal travel that gained me both miles and benefits. (such as finding better award availabilty, free baggage etc) So, if I've gone "out of pocket" to gain some benefit, how could you tax me on it? I would love to see some gov'mint folks try to make rhyme or reason out of my forty some year old frequent flyer accounts.

We now leave tax chat to return you to Minis, Mokes 'n beer.

Robin;

Keep your eyes open for our Jeff Fenwick, (BSCCOC) member, who is over there taking in the event-

Not sour grapes but most of my friends who are there from Canada are flying on Aero Plan Miles from their jobs and living the good life- Hmmm, would that be a taxable benefit ???

Definitely Moken weather over there right now.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

Well, try number two. Apparently, this site doesn't like a boat load of photos at one time....  (rolleyes)

I've been on the ground for a couple of days now "touring" with a Moke friend in an area south of Oxford.

When I think of England, this sort of vibe is exactly what I picture...

By "touring" I mean bombing around in a Moke stopping at some really nice, traditional pubs....

That would be great! I could set it up in the back yard for when we have company...

They should install them at Mid Ohio they would go nicely with the communal showers and four foot $iss trough they have there. Have a gret trip Robin.

I am staying across the road from the imm , we went for a walk through the grounds yesterday afternoon, this event is enormous!!! The size Of the trade stands is unbelievable and the sheer amount of them has to be seen to believed, and there is no one here yet !!!! I am thinking of going to the local supermarket to get a shopping trolley,(cart for you Americans) for all the goodies.

Have a good trip!  Say 'hi' to everyone, and if you see KC, please tell him that I might have solved the problem.  He'd be proud, it looks to have been something that nobody would have thought of...  I'm going to try to call him before he leaves, but he's really busy at the shop.

I thought about going to IMM, really and seriously thought about it; and I even have an offer for lodging and such, just need to put the mini on the boat and 'go' across the sea to England.  But, the CHGP is this weekend and I'm going to be at the races and utilizing the open-air quad urinals.  From what I can see from the participant register, there are only 4 minis entered this year.  Bummer...  They'll probably all be at IMM...
