Tail Lamp Lens Amber And Red 1098 Minor 1963-71
The later model Morris Minor has a tail light assembly designed for safety and as such are much bigger than the more common early model. The lamps measure 6" high and almost 3" wide. The one piece plastic lens has an amber top section and the conventional red stop lens all secured by two screws. (Screws not included with lens). This is the genuine type - the less expensive aftermarket lens is part no. LMP130MS.
Question:
Our 1965 Morris Minor has all red rear tail lights. The one bottom piece is just missing on the one light.I guess all i can do is switch both lights out? Were plain red tail lights normal?
Answer:
It's probably best to swap out both so they match side-to-side. But yes, these are one-piece top and bottom lenses.
I can see the all red types in my main Minor catalog but it doesn't appear that they're available any longer. You may want to replace the upper bulb with an amber one, too, when swapping out as it will make the turn signals stand out a bit more: https://www.minimania.com/part/1157A/Classic-Mini-Dual-Element-Amber-Bulb
