Fits Saloon tank with twist locking ring. Ohm sweep is approx. 17 Ohms when full and 260 Ohms when empty.
See AAU8340 for under floor tanks, and XNB100380 for fuel injected cars.
Locking ring type, not held on by screws.
If your gas gauge is not working it could be only a few things. If you can take the single wire that is attached to the sending unit and touch it to ground with the key in the on position it should make the gauge needle swing to the other extreme. If it does not move at all then the sending unit is defective!
Rubber seal between tank and sender is ARA1502
Locking ring is ARA1501

January or very early February 1964 was the last of the 6 screw sending unit tanks. From then on this rotating collar was used.
 
Caution. Just because the collar was in place, the way the sending unit worked was still the same electrically as the older 6-screw ones, until about October 1964 when the sending unit was changed electrically, too, and matched up with the new to Minis, bi-metallic sending unit. So there was about 8 months when a different sending unit was in place.
