LOL, I generally agree...I'm talking about the very small stripes down the side, almost like pinstripes.  Mine sort of has them, they appear to have been buffed through in a couple of spots.  its a nice visual break from all of the blue, I probably need to get them repaired.

any concerns with water getting under the wrap and causing rusting issues?  If I only do the roof, there would be a seam where the wrap ends somewhere in or near the rain gutters.

White roof would look great on that car....vinyl is a good suggestion for now.  Don't add stripes.  Stripes are silly ;)

On a surfblue mini it will look better with the white roof IMHO.

Thanks, I agree I think it will look better with the white roof!  I had my eye on one that had a minor cooper conversion, mostly just visual.  it had a diamond white roof with white side strips and white cooper logos on each side and it looked really good.  but I probably can'f afford to do anything paint related just yet.  The car is getting $7K worth of mechanical work right now!

Car is surf blue, hoping to paint the roof off-white.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but if I was about to buy a Classic Mini, practically the very last thing I'd be thinking about would be painting the roof.  In all likelyhood (unless it's showroom condx - unlikely) you'll need to repair rust and repair mechanical and electrical things first.

THEN you can spruce it up by painting the roof.

I appreciate the input.  The car is going straight to the mini specialist mechanic for all sorts of work on the suspension, gearbox, ect.  $7K worth of work to get it ship-shape. I asked him to do everything necessary to get it as reliable and fresh as possible, none of this work is customizing.

You can do it on the cheap with rattle can. That should last a couple of years. Automotive paint is running about $100 a quart. 2 part runs more and prices can zoom up depending on the clear you buy. Getting an auto body is going to depend on where you go. Guessimate $500 to a couple grand. If you have a small compressor, try to do it yourself with a Harbor Freight $15 gun. Then you'll be into it for about $300.
