if it 'revs hard' and not going then I'd suspect slipping clutch. Would be less noticeable in upper gears. Just a guess

My 2014 countyman, 6-speed manual has been struggling to keep up with my foot n the gas. It revs hard and will finally get some speed - as soon as I shift into 2 2 ne and hit the gas same thing happens. Shifting through 3rd, 4th and5th are not as bad but I still notice it. The best description I can give you is that I’m giving the card gas while rocking forward as if that will help get her moving. I don’t want t to spend anything on a garage’s diagnoses (I don’t have an OBD) but it’s not throwing codes anyway! No warning lights, nothing. I’m thinking timing belt? You guys all sound like you know your way around a mi I and I thought I’d see if anyone has any ideas… thanks.
