Yeah i just wanna be able to press on that brake pedal at full stop without hitting the gas. i'm golden with just regular sneakers but it's nice to get that gas pedal move an inch or something to the right.
My car is LHD. I doubt this car was originally RHD as i had the same issue on my previous LHD Cooper 997.

I've had problems also Dennis.
A race shoe might be the answer. (Or my answer)
For me 14 Wide can and was a small problem even in my daily driver.
Went to hit the gas and also got the brake yesterday .
Riding in a car at MMEAST 2016 the driver hit the gas when hitting the brake.
He had to blow past the turn and do a U-turn.
It's probably more common a problem than we think.
Slight clearance between brake and clutch could be achieved bending them apart in a press. Heat should not be used.
Stock gas pedal Dennis or extended like a Hopkirk ?

Is your mini LHD or RHD ?
If a mini has been converted from Right to Left, then the alignment of the pedals are usually wonkey

Well, you could look into hand controls for the gas.

Pff appropriate foot wear for a mini??? i ride a bicycle backwards in my flip flops. My brakes are higher than my gas pedal and ive driven my wife's Accord and my F150 in my work boots with no problem. While they seem to look normal in your eyes, I want my gas pedal to slightly move further away from the brakes just like any other car around today. Guess it's something i'll just make my own from scratch then.

Having said that, check your brake adjustment - the pedal travel should not be enough for you to be catching the throttle.

Anybody have any tips on putting a bigger gap between the brakes and gas pedals? I can't seem to find a better gas pedal replacement anywhere. I almost hit someone's car today cause my foot pressed on both the brakes and gas the same time while i was on traffic. I usually will change my work boots and wear sneakers whenever i drive the mini but today i just wanted to go and drive.
