There is no need to cut any wires. The blue/red and blue/white that normally feed the headlamps are disconnected from the multi bullet connector and connected to the trigger wire that turns the relay on. The relay takes current at the highest possible voltage right from the alternator and battery and routes it along the shortest distance straight to that multi bullet connector. The whole affair can be returned to original in no time if necessary.

I found all this a lot easier with just the basic template instead of a diagram. You then automatically know what to do with everything and can figure out where you want to stick things for your own setup.
1. Your headlight positive lead gets cut (figuratively), and a relay inserted in the middle. That's why there are two power leads on the relay.
2. The relay's trigger(yellow) and ground are for operating the relay. Either one can go to a switch.
Period.
End of story.
Give this a few days to sink in and you're home free.
My setup is overkill, I also wanted to add a fuse panel to accomodate an aux fan and Cibie Oscars with 65W bulbs. Instead of one relay per light I could have done 1 each for headlights and driving lights. However even a 20A fuse gets hot with the Cibies on, and the relays are warm as well.

Jeg,
sorry, Yes, I'd think I'd like two dash toggles with indicators. I've collected lots of fog lamps over the years and have some clear and also yellow glass. I really should put them on a car and enjoy them.
I guess two separate relays.
Wanna post it here, or shoot me an em?

love to see a dummies guide to wiring pairs of fog lights and how to wire more than one set of fogs with relays of course. I know it's damn easy to connect the wires, just don't know what the markings on the relay refers to, and where to take my hot from. Ground is ground.
Mike, would you like just a simple on-off switch or an on-off-on to operate one pair or two pairs at a time? With or without a dashboard indicator lamp to tell you that they're turned on?
I can (easily) modify one of the drawings that I just did if you'd like -
Mike?

Cool - I'm just doing them in Word, so it's difficult to get striped wires.

I'll try to help out. But I got a new computer and all of my custom Microsoft Visio stencils are gone!! Sooo irritating. They were all made from scratch and perfect for automotive wiring diagrams. Trying to build them back up now.
