1966 1275 cooper S converted to vintage race specs. Have photos of car as it was when nearly finished. And photos of car after it was stored in a T-Hanger at the airport for 10 years. Can submit list of the parts bought from 7 enterprises to build the car. Can supply the photo history of the build. Owner / Builder is an aircraft mechanic and engineer. We just went into the engine to replace timing belt and found issues. The engine is ice-damaged and block is cracked. Car was stored when owner took job at another local airport with less room for his projects. Pics that show perfect paint are before storage. Recent pics show dust. Have documentation that car is original 1275S car. Have original engine complete, and original dash parts / gages. Also have original front brakes and SU carbs for 1275S original engine.
ESSENTIALLY, THE CAR IS A STREETABLE RACE CAR AND VERY WELL DONE, BUT ITS VALUE HAS TO BE CUT TO REFLECT THE DAMAGED ENGINE IN THE CAR.
I have the car in my shop in South Carolina and have been cleaning it up and buffing it some to verify the paint is still healthy. Buyer can pick up complete package in Sandford NC, or I can retrieve the loose bits and sell it from Anderson SC. The engine has zero miles and only been run for small segments, it is a clone of the race motor on the cover of Vizard's book. Race head, valvetrain, Induction, Cam drive, down gears. Probably 10K in parts for the engine.
Has race suspension and heim joints, so will not be a pleasant car on bad roads. Fuel cell and pumps are teriffic install. Has fire supression also. My name is Scott. Nothing like watching race spec minis and porsche 356s battling on the road course. If we can't sell for a fair price, I'll be forced to buy it and take kids to school in it.
