I went to the local paint guy who suggested that I use " "VW Alloy Silver", so he mixed up a spray can.. nice color and so far no issues after three years on the wheels..

I'm using Duplicolour's GM Ultra Silver Metallic with Duplicolour Clear coat.   First time with Duplicolour, nonetheless I believe that good wheel prep...clean, clean, clean...and several thin coats, allowing time after all painting is done for the wheels to fully cure.  We'll see.

All the alloy wheels I did 15 - 20 years ago had polished rims, were painted gloss Black with Tremclad and clear coated with lacquer after the paint cured for several weeks (at least 6).  Again, several light coats and 6 or more coats of clear lacquer.  The wheels looked great 10 years on.

I'd recommend trying a Duplicolor match. Their paint is very nice to apply and holds up quite well. Visit your local O'Rielly store...

Most auto paint suppliers will mix you a color up in a rattle can, more expensive than over the counter at the parts store but they will match any color for you and as Ransom said they are a lot better quality.

I have bought the wheel silver and clear coat from Advance parts which matched the Rover wheels pretty good but i don't know how well they would hold up in winter driving.

I just redid my Rostyle wheels.
I bought a kit at CT that contains a can of wheel silver and a can of clear coat.
It's only been a couple of weeks.....but washed them a couple times already and no chiping or flaking etc.  Dupli Colour I think is the brand.

I am going to redo my rover minilite mag wheels. Is there  a rattle can silver paint that holds up like a factory painted mag wheel? I did get  about 4 years from krylon rattle can . The mini is my daily driver, which I drive in the winter on salted roads.
