Back in the day we used the Std. clearence but as theres no side load as cupcake said I don't see why you would not use the smaller clearence?
Mini's are like buses they come along in a bunch

I used the low side of the standard 0.003 - 0.007 gap but that's a good question because there's no side load. I'll be interested in what the experts say.

are straight cut drop gear shimed the same as strandard helical gear?
