Wow....that's a lot to pay for something you'll not really need unless in a rally behind someone throwing stones  :-)

I'm with Alex....I had them on a MINI back in the 80's and they just rusted.  Maybe it was just the brackets...long time ago.  Fit the look for then, but not really necessary.  (IMO)

Big spender, $5.99. Probably 4 times that in postage though.

Thanks WillieB and again, this forum. Won the ebay bid & my stoneguards are swimming their expensive way upstream to Canada.

Thanks Willie....I'm tied up today but will have a look at the lights 2morrow to see if I can pull the face & install the clips. If so, I'll probably buy the ones this side of the Pond. Price for shipping is 4 times the cost of the guards. Such are the joys of shopping from Canada and shipping from the US.

I'll have to go back & see if I can find it again. They had a set of ,I believe, 6" ones for smaller headlamps at the vendor at Brits on the Beach, but they were way too large.

You can use the 5 3/4 one you found, and then mount it from the bottom of the lamp using a post mount, so it sits in front of the light.. It will be just slighlty larger all the way around on the light..   you can see some examples if you google for images

That's no problem for me...my wife is a Dental Nurse and she has spent many years in orthodontics (braces). I should have no problem learning how to clean around them.

I have never seen a stoneguard, even the stainless steel ones, which didn't rust and stain the headlamp unit.

They also prevent effective cleaning of the headlamps.

That is the kind of material but I don't have the tools aor ability to manufacture the covers from it..........plus the $47 US shipping fee, plus taxes etc puts it beyond a reasonable price. The larger headlight covers retail in the $20-$30-ish range & that's more what I was thinking.

You folks here were so helpful before in finding me a great wood steering wheel and shifter (Thanks Dan!!!) that i'm returning to the well. I have a set of "Best of British) driving lights mounted (see picture) on the front bumper and I'm having great difficulty in finding a set of mesh stone guards to fit them. The glass lens is about 5 1/3 inches across and stands away from the  chrome housing. I can find lots of headlight mesh stone guards of  5 3/4, 6 and 7 inches but they won't fit the driving lights. Any suggestions, short of hijacking a couple of my wife's strainers from the kitchen?
