You hit it on the nose Todd - it's a population problem!  At 7 billion people the planets resources are already being stretched with weather being effected and can't support the population with millions starving a year.  Just wait until it hits 7,8,9 or even the projected 10 billion!  650 million people in India alone don't even have access to latrines.  When is a Politian, President or Pope going to come out and say we our overpopulating the planet? Never.

Also 80% of all water in Cali goes to Agro flooding the fields leaving half the water to evaporate - that's the big loss of water in this state.  10% of All Water in Cali goes to just Almond Growing.  That's crazy.  Stop eating almonds and there will be plenty of water for everyone including all those pretty golf courses in Palm Springs.

An additional reservoir going empty is not the solution.

On a related tangent my understanding from a friend in Ca state govt. tells me the state has not built a new reservoir in around 30 years due to various environmental lawsuits etc. - while the population has of course doubled.  We have a reservoir shortage, not a water shortage.

The water coming through the Sacramento delta alone is several times the state's needs, but you can't get a reservoir bill through the legislature.  Whenever one is proposed the local 'Not in my backyard' groups are able to file suit and block it.

Hopefully enough people will get $1000 tickets for watering their lawns to push the state to get it together.

Yea Paul, Drought times!! Field of green was gone this year....the College stopped watering/using the soccer/football  practice fields this year.  I posted this on the moasf site prior to the event:

We have the same field we have used for many years.  Please understand that with the drought that all of us are part of, including our host location is cutting way back on watering.  So our normal grass field is pretty brown.  As we're all saying in NCAL "Brown is the new Green".  So expect our normal green grass to be brown this year.
Thanks to all.  Just wanted to let folks know that our lush green field was subject to our drought this year.

Guess what?  Attendance was higher this year than the last two years, not a single comment or complaint about the field.  You just have to love British Car Owners!  Also, Rolls Royce and Bently attendance was up about 4X, and those folks know how to have fun!

There are some pretty cool cars as well as Mini people that show up there. Then I show up....

Anybody bringing anything down to the swap meet? I may but nobody bought my 1942 English Mom last year...
