The seller is asking $2000 CDN for the lot, but my sense is he's willing to go lower since the market for 50-year old basket cases is not especially good here, well, except in the bars on Ladies Night, but that's a different kind of basket case.

If you snapped any pictures, could you email them to me at hercplt (at) gmail . com

Thanks.

Paul,

I just picked my '62 Countryman Woodie up from British Columbia and had absolutely no issues with bringing it into the US. As for title and registration, it deepends on your state. Washington is pretty simple, the paperwork from the Border Patrol and a bill of sale, along with what ever documentation the PO has, and it should be pretty easy. The hard part would be if you had to prove the year.

I can give you my story on how I did it, but I am sure that depending on the state and Border patrol etc.. will determine how much work it would be and the cost effectiveness. PM me with any questions on my process.

Paul, what part of the US are you located?  There might be cheaper options closer to you and I am not sure how easy it would be to import a project car given all the grief CBP seem to be handing out lately.

A '66 sedan showed up in the local buy-n-sell this week so I popped over to have a look. It's nothing special, but it is a relatively intact MK I, albeit quite rough. The 850 is long gone, but it has a late 70's 998 with rod change, 8 extra steel wheels, a stack of vent windows from a MK III, spare front and rear glass, MK III bonnet and two spare doors. The front end sheet metal will need replacing and a lot of work on the floor pan, which, I think, would be less work to just slip in a complete pan with sills. The hydrolastic is still there, but bodged up to cross connect front and back.

I have all the front end sheet metal on the shelf but I already have 7 antique cars and another one with no specific purpose just makes no sense, so I'll pass on it.

If anyone is interested in acquiring it and has the means to pick it up or ship from Alberta Canada, give me a shout. I can facilitate the purchase and store it for a short while at my shop before pickup. The seller is asking $2000 CDN for the lot, but my sense is he's willing to go lower since the market for 50-year old basket cases is not especially good here, well, except in the bars on Ladies Night, but that's a different kind of basket case.
