Or a modified door check-strap bracket of some sort... if an external hinge door (as the door pockets seem to imply)... check to see if the two bolt holes are spaced the same as where the check-straps bolt up!

They sort of look like parts cut off a set of bonnet hinges.  erhaps a previous owner was making their own version of a quick release bonnet.
