Looking at it, it's clear there is a million dollars wrapped in there.  Or Jimmy Hoffa.

While disassembling my 1960 Austin one half of the plastic signal light shroud was missing and wrapped with electrical tape. Filling the void was a page from the Denver Post. Finally found a May ??, 1970 date.

Also the rear seat and rear deck had been rercovered with vinyl upholstery. Underneath the vinyl and on top of the original cloth was a 1964 Nickel coin.

The blanket was a freaking sponge. The mini never had a chance.

I've read a few articles this way. Never thought about the date thing. You Sir, should be on Auto CSI.

Gotta support the underbelly-

Just your cut thru of the fender shows a good 1/8th inch of filler!

Lol, yeah I had to pull and tug on this car like no other to get it back to the proper dimensions.

Sweet, I admire your work and diligence. I don't have it in me to tackle that job. Best luck. Scott

I have another car I started tearing into.  It had work done in a previous life, new front end on at one point, wings, and some patch work here and there.  All of that is now rotting and I'm in the process of fitting new.  Upon removal of the right wing I discovered that they used a piece of blanket under the windscreen scuttle for the closing panel.

Looks can be deceiving if you were to see the car before.
